Celebrating Paul McCartney’s 80th birthday
As a devotee of the melodic genius of Paul McCartney and to mark his 80th birthday, Roz Girvan, a country-soul singer-songwriter and long-time member of the Melbourne roots music community, has gathered a multi-generational band of enthusiasts to play some of the great songs in the McCartney repertoire.
On keys and vocals, Jamie Messenger – composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist who has composed music for every major Australian symphony orchestra and collaborated with many of the country’s most successful artists including Sia, Hilltop Hoods and the Tesky Brothers.
On bass guitar, Fabian Hunter – a left handed bass player who runs his own studio and has played in countless bands including Madeline Leman and the Desert Swells.
On lead guitar, Roy Girvan – whose versatility has seen him grace the stage of both
the Tote (Zockapilli) and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Join us for this very special celebration of Paul’s music – Sunday the 19th of June.
From 4.00pm – 6.00pm at the Drunken Poet.
Can’t wait to see you there!

The Songs of Jackson Browne – Sun 24th April
Following their packed out performances at The Port Fairy Folk Festival, Roz Girvan, Greg Field and Kim Wheeler are bringing their show to Melbourne audiences at POME this Anzac Day long-weekend.
In The Songs of Jackson Browne, the trio perform a sizzling selection of songs from one of the greatest songwriters to come out of Laurel Canyon in the 1970’s.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Bruce Springsteen and into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Jackson Browne’s songs were described by Rolling Stone as “…open-ended poetry (which) achieves power from nearly religious intensity”.
Roz, Greg and Kim aim to honour this song writing legacy. Watch the video of For A Dancer below for a little taste of what the show has in store.
